Rainbow pepper tart

Hi Everyone !

How was your week ?

I haven’t been posting a lot because I have been busy with uni and job interviews etc..overall a busy but enjoyable week.

I had my whole weekend planned, ready to be productive and enjoy the first days of fall, but I got drunk on Friday. It is so dangerous to go out on a Friday night.

You think you will have two days to go out again and recover when in fact, in my case anyway, you always end up going too hard on the first night out and won’t move from your couch for the next two days.

So in honor of my legendary laziness, I present you with the easiest tart you will ever make. With the  help of the following ingredients :

Three peppers

A tart dough or Puff Pastry for maximum deliciousness

Some sort of Smokey Barbecue Sauce

Mustard ( maille is an all time favorite of mine )

Olive Oil & Salt & Black Pepper

The only work you will have to do as illustrated above. Cut your peppers into strips and lay them down on your basic tart dough or puff pastry.

What gives this tart all of its flavor is definitely the sauce. If you are a fan of smokey flavors, this recipe is for you.

I have to admit, I threw all of this together yesterday night, picked some leftovers here and there and hoped for the best.

Do you have a favorite barbecue sauce ?

A favorite mustard ? Give it a go & mix them together ! You would be surprised.

That is exactly what I did. I poured two spoons of Jack Daniel’s Barbecue Sauce in a glass, half a spoon of olive oil and one spoonful of my favorite mustard : Maille.

I have to apologise for the picture quality. I took them from my Iphone at 2 am with the kitchen light full on. I will do better next time, I promise.

Once your sauce is done, pour it all on your peppers, cover the top with the rest of your dough or puff pastry and put the tart in the oven.

I pre-heated my oven to 180 while I was putting it all together and once it was in the oven, put a timer of 20 mins.

As a result of your amazing efforts, you will get something which looks a bit like this :

solid-golden-color

As my roommate said : ” Oh wow ! ” ” Delicious “

What do you think ?
