Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Hi Everyone,

It is Eating Disorders Awareness Week soon (Monday 27th February to 5th March).

I was diagnosed when I was 16. It took me around 5 years, two psychiatrists and countless therapy sessions to recover. By recover, I mean gain back the weight I lost and be okay with it.

I will still have damaging thoughts from time to time but I have learned to silence them.

One day, I will be able to share my story with you*. In the meantime, I send all my love to all men and women out there, wherever you are, fighting an eating disorder.

I live in the UK so I have gathered phone numbers and places where you’ll be able to look for help if you want to:

Beating Eating disorders:

0808 801 0677 & 0808 801 0711

Eating disorders support:

01494 793223 & support@eatingdisorderssupport.co.uk

Eating disorder support service (SEED):

(01482) 718130

Eating-disorders:

0845 838 2040

*I haven’t found the words to explain, in details, what I went through and how it felt. Talking about it alone is something very personal and hard to do, let alone in English.

Lots of Kisses

Alicia
