Why my weight gain isn’t a sign of weakness

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would do a little me update today.

This is going to be short and sweet but I wanted to let you guys know that I am doing okay. Whilst PCOS does not have a treatment per say, I have been trying out different medications and taking care of myself .

The first pill I was on, whilst it helped with some of the symptoms, made me gain weight, no matter how healthy I was eating and the hours of exercise each week.

But for the first time, whilst it is the heaviest I have ever been and looked (I am a size 12 now), this weight gain, which would have destroyed my self-esteem a couple of years ago, hasn’t been affecting me.

I know it’s silly but I am proud of looking the way I do because I am healthy (or getting there I guess) and in charge.  So far, I have seen three gynaecologists, two hormones specialists, one nutritionist and I won’t stop until I found what’s best for me and my body.

In case you needed this today, this is your reminder to take care of yourself. If you have hormonal issues and you want to talk to me about it or even share it down below, I welcome your thoughts.

Polycystic ovary syndrome affects more women than we think and it is important to get a check up and talk about it if you have any doubts or concerns. I’ll happily talk about my experience with you guys if you ever want to know more.

I wish you an awesome week!

Lots of Kisses

  1. At least you are getting doctors to take you seriously, I am still fighting and fighting to get my condition recognised and get decent treatment before it becomes unmanageable. I’m glad you are feeling good, and I definitely wouldn’t worry a single bit about being a size 12, what I wouldn’t give to be a size 12 again!

    • Hi Kirsty! I am very sorry to hear. I hope that you will get the help you deserve, it’s such a struggle…

If you ever wish to talk, I’m here.

  2. I also have PCOs and it makes weight loss so hard. I’m finally getting to the point where my hormone levels are normal and I’m losing weight but if I don’t strictly watch my carb and calorie intake along with going to the gym I stop losing weight. I hope you figure out what works best for you soon!

  3. Pcos is hard to handle sometimes! It wreaks havoc on our bodies and it’s so frustrating to not be in control! It sounds like you have a great handle on it, and you’re staying positive, which is crucial ! Good for you!! If you ever need any support feel free to reach out to me! 🙂
