I am pushing back the giveaway to the end of June because I have tons of stuff to do in Paris, I have to start my dissertation, I will be leaving for Barcelona in about two weeks and I want to make sure I buy products that are in line with what I like, what you would like and my blog. The giveaway will be open for one week and all of Europe. To participate, you will just have to be subscribed to my blog and comment anything under the giveaway post. Horror Movies I just watched

Hi Everyone, I hope you are doing okay. I love horror movies. You must be all sick of hearing me talk about them but I just have to share. Whilst some of them are very good, most suck and do not deserve your time. So let me help you out and show you the movies I’ve watched and liked since my last horror movie related post. The Wailing  This movie is incredible and it is now available on Netflix. It is long (around 2h30 mins) but it builds the tension so beautifully that you will want to know what’s up in this village. PS: I think the ending will blow your mind. The Void Great main character, good monster thingy but if you do not like gory and graphic horror movies, I would save this one for later. This movie is completely different from the Wailing and will make you question everything you know about the world you live in. The Autopsy of Jane Doe This movie was the creepiest of them all for me …

What is happening in May?

Hi Everyone, How are you all doing? So I just wanted to pop on here to let you know what I will be working on in May for the blog. April, as you all know, was voted Month of the Food so I tried to deliver as many pictures as I could. 3 recipes were posted on the blog and I tried to show you on Instagram what I was eating every day. This month is going to be a bit different. I will be working on a Superdrug cruelty-free makeup post, a Sephora one, a review of The Body Shop new masks line and an updated list of new lipsticks/liquid lipsticks I have been loving lately. I will also (most probably) talk to you guys about my cruelty-free skincare routine (and no, Simple will not be included ;)). The blog also reached 1,000 something followers in April! I will also talk about this in another post, towards the end of May as I want to organise a little giveaway for you guys. The giveaway …

My favorite Guillermo Del Toro movies (directed or produced)

Hi Everyone, How are you today? I was sitting at home trying to write my essay when I got distracted. You see, I love everything horror related and Guillermo Del Toro has always given me what I wanted in terms of visual effects, storylines, characters, etc. He creates such beautiful movies that I would like to share with you my top 5. There is no ranking per say, I love them for different reasons and I couldn’t bring myself to place one above the others. Pan’s Labyrinth & The Devil Backbone I had to write about them together because they both made me terribly sad. In terms of horror, The Devil Backbone is definitely (in my opinion), scarier than Pan’s Labyrinth because of the history behind the story and its “realness”. Pan’s Labyrinth is one of those movies that I had to re-watch to fully take in what actually happened. And to this day, I am not even sure. I think I talked about it before on the blog actually but it is worth mentioning …

April Poll and An update

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing okay. I wanted to sit down and talk to you about the coming months on the blog. I will give it to you straight: I will have to take some time off. I wanted to schedule posts to keep the blog alive but it’s gonna depend on how I am feeling and the amount of work I’ll have to do for my exams. I will try to write one blog post a week and we will, of course, celebrate my one year blog anniversary (coming up very soon). But with my Master’s dissertation, my schedule will have to change. I am passionate about everything customer and marketing related and this dissertation is what I need to gain some credibility work wise. So I am asking you guys, what do you want to see on the blog this month? I figured that since I would post once a week, I could go back to doing what I was doing when I first started: “A week without” or fun …

Promote your lovely blog

Hi Everyone, How are you all doing? I said that I would do another PYB so here we are. The last “Promote your blog” was awesome. I got a bunch of comments, I met my first guest poster and followed some awesome new bloggers who I wouldn’t have met without the post. So as you know, there are no rules. You do not have to follow me on here or on Twitter or Instagram. If you want to promote your blog and yourself, feel free to write something down below with a link to your blog and I’ll check you out. I have been following a lot of cruelty-free makeup lovers and vegans on here. I would love to get to know more of you of course but if you (or know a blogger who) write about books, movies, and fitness, I’d love love love to hear from you (them) especially. I’ll keep it short and end it here. Remember, my email veggieoverseas@gmail.com is always open. As always, if you’re interested in writing for the blog, …

A day and a half in Bournemouth

Hi Everyone, How are you? I said I would have this post up by the end of the week and I do! I finally managed to find time to sit down on Friday night and gather all the pretty pictures I took last weekend. Bournemouth was actually a surprise from me to my boyfriend. I wanted to do something nice before our busy exam period (coming up in two weeks until the end of May) and a quick trip next to the sea sounded like the perfect idea. I found the hotel on lastminute.com, booked the cheapest bus tickets I could find and we left around noon on Friday morning. The bus trip was relatively pleasant, 2h45 mins which felt like half an hour since I spent most of the ride sleeping. The Hotel is located a short walk away from the coach station (15 mins to 20 mins if you take your time), 5 mins away from the beach and 10 mins away from the city center. I was very excited to stay …

Last Day of the challenge: The confessional

Hi Everyone, It is finally here. The day I reveal some of my secrets to you guys. I honestly don’t know where to start. Does it have to be serious? Can it be about anything? Do you guys want to know specific things about me? I’ll just write down 5 things I think are very personal down below and if you have any burning questions, the comment section is always open. I like to do my number 2 in complete darkness. I know this is weird. I’ll just leave it at that. 2. I am terrified of death I can’t stomach people talking about death. I know it sounds selfish but I have the hardest time dealing with death. I don’t cry at funerals and I pretty much stay in denial until a tremendous amount of time later, I realize that the person is gone. I do not sleep on my back because I’m scared of sleep paralysis It might surprise you guys and frankly, I don’t even know if the way you sleep increases your chances …

Day 6: If I could, I would

Hi Everyone, The end of the challenge is near! I will have to take a week of or two after this one because I’ll be studying non-stop for my essays and final exams. I will still be active on Twitter tho so don’t worry. Dozens of you have already joined me on there and it is nice to get to know you all a bit more. If I could, I would have never stopped running I don’t know what happened really. At some point, I was running 4 to 5 times a week, 45 mins to 1 hour. I think it was a mix of moving out of my parents’ place and living in the heart of London. I used to go running very early in the morning 6 am or late at night (9 to 10 pm). I don’t feel comfortable doing it here in London because it is always busy, I can’t run along the river and the parks are too far. I go to the gym now. And even if it is …

Day 5: The things I wish I had done differently

Hi Everyone, I have to apologize for yesterday’s post going up so late (in London it was almost midnight when I published it). I had a challenging day at uni and when I got home, I went straight to bed for a nap but ended up waking up 4 hours later. Today we are talking about the things I wish I had done differently. I have given it some thought and even if lately, I haven’t had any regrets, I managed to find 3 things that I could have done differently or taken care of sooner.  Going vegetarian You live and you learn. I am so so glad that I finally got to make this connection but I thought about doing it long before I finally did. And honestly, I think I was just making excuses and trying to relativise what I now find so natural. So yes, I wished I had gone vegetarian sooner but who knows, maybe I wouldn’t have felt like sharing my journey to you guys. Listen to my parents Especially …

Day 4: I am grateful for

Look at little 19 years old me, so naive and stupid. Hi Everyone, day 4 is finally here! I am running out of pictures for my thumbnails as you can see. I am generally grateful for a lot of things but I’ve decided to tell you what I have been grateful for today. The family cat came home! This cat is my baby (although he is like 15 years old). He was initially the neighbor’s cat but we noticed that as soon as they got two dogs, they abandoned Tequila (yes, his name is Tequila) and he was left on his own most of the time. From there, we started feeding him every day, soon bought him everything necessary for him to be comfortable at ours and he kinda naturally moved in. We took him to the vet several times, took care of him and he would always sleep with me at night and wander our garden during the day. But last October, he disappeared (at this point, we had been taking care of him …

Best and Worst Habits

Day 3 of the 7-day challenge is here! Since it is hard to spot exactly what are your best and worst habits, I have asked my friends and my boyfriend to tell me what they think mine are. Here is what they said: Burping (guilty) Leaving the hoover unplug Dropping stuff in the shower (dropping stuff was the most recurrent one) Leaving the toothpaste without a cap on (yup) Always loosing my Oyster Card, complaining about it, buying a new one and coming home to find the old one chilling on the kitchen table. Vegetarianism (guess who?) “Your weak arms” (true) Pouring myself a liter of coffee in a mug every morning, drinking 1/5 of it Never ever taking out the trash (we have a system tho, I do the dishes and the laundry, he takes the trash out. So this one doesn’t count) Leaving my toothbrush in the shower Best habits Cooking something different pretty much every night Always looking after people My bathroom cupboard full of skincare products and face masks (you’re welcome …

A day in my life: York

Hi Everyone, Day 2 of my challenge! I went to York last week and I thought that It was more interesting for you to read about York and the perfect hotel I stayed at rather than read about one of my typical day at uni. I went to York for a day and a half with my boyfriend. We arrived pretty early (for us) and went straight to the hotel to drop our bag and go explore. We had about 3 hours to kill before the afternoon tea and didn’t want to make the same mistake again (aka the time we went to Brighton and I stayed in to nap until dinner). The hotel is called Gray’s Court. It is located on a quiet street, behind the cathedral. Guys, I don’t even have the words to describe how beautiful this hotel is. A mix between old wood, mismatched furniture, lights, long corridors, maze-like manor. The rest of the day was uneventful. We walked around for two hours, grabbed a coffee and came back just in …

Day 1: Get to know me better

Hi Everyone, Well, this is weird, finally doing a get to know me better post, after over half a year of blogging. Let’s just get into it! I never know to talk about myself so please bear with me. I think It is fair to talk about where I come from first before we get into who I am and what I do. I was born in France in the most amazing family. My mom is mixed-race from the Caribbean and my dad is white from Italy. My parents are the sweetest and strongest human beings I know.  In a lot of ways, I am just like my dad. Quiet, sarcastic, always deep in my thoughts and sometimes socially awkward. I am also like my mom. Always ready for an adventure, passionate about movies, loves my gossips, confident and somewhat optimistic about my future. Add to the mix my own personality and you got yourself one confused introvert. I moved to London for an internship two years ago and ended up staying. London brings me something that Paris …

The 7 day blog challenge

Hi Guys, So this is gonna be interesting.  I am not a regular poster. I try to post two/three times a week but I never keep a tight schedule and upload whenever I think is ..best? I was challenged by the lovely Amanda to post every day for a week. I realized that I haven’t shared much with you since I started this blog so this sounds like the perfect opportunity for us to connect a bit more. So for the first time in six months, here is my schedule for next week: Get to know me better A day in the life of Best and Worst Habits I am grateful for If I could, I would The things I wish I had done differently The confessional I wouldn’t be a blogging challenge without nominations! https://bayareabeautyblogger.com https://forkandveg.com https://withoutcrueltyblog.wordpress.com https://startwithstyle.wordpress.com I love your blogs and I would love to hear from you guys and get to know you better. If you do this challenge, don’t forget to nominate 5 bloggers as well to keep it going! Go …

A night in Brighton – Drakes Boutique Hotel

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing fantastic. I didn’t stay long in Brighton. The trip was very last minute as we wanted to get away from London for a night. It was my first time in Brighton and whilst I didn’t see much, I appreciated the seaside, the fresh air and loved the hotel. After a 20 mins walk from Brighton station, we arrived at Drakes Hotel, sweaty and exhausted. The hotel faces the sea and is located roughly 5 mins away from the famous Brighton Piers. Whilst it looks modest on the outside, the inside is clean, modern and cozy. We immediately went to see the concierge on duty this afternoon. I don’t remember her name but she had a lovely smile, welcomed us to Brighton and showed us our room. I have to say that my boyfriend booked the room. I had no idea what it looked like. I just wanted a room facing the sea and crossed my fingers hard before she opened the door. She gave us a quick tour, said …

Little Life Update and our monthly poll

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing great. It is time for our little monthly poll. It gives you the chance to tell me what you want to see on the blog and gives me the opportunity to get closer to you guys and get to know you better. The blog is growing organically which makes me very happy. February was an interesting month for me. I got diagnosed with PCOS, got to see Brighton for the first time, got to exercise more and hang out with my friends which I neglected a bit in January. We also had our first guest poster, Kara, which I would like to thank again for her amazing article, her patience, and willingness to contribute to the blog. If you are wondering what I am talking about, here is her article. I am getting more comfortable in voicing my opinion on Twitter so if you want to join me over there and chit-chat, my timeline is all yours: My Twitter. I know I suck at Instagram but I hate the whole …

Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Hi Everyone, It is Eating Disorders Awareness Week soon (Monday 27th February to 5th March).  I was diagnosed when I was 16. It took me around 5 years, two psychiatrists and countless therapy sessions to recover. By recover, I mean gain back the weight I lost and be okay with it. I will still have damaging thoughts from time to time but I have learned to silence them. One day, I will be able to share my story with you*. In the meantime, I send all my love to all men and women out there, wherever you are, fighting an eating disorder. I live in the UK so I have gathered phone numbers and places where you’ll be able to look for help if you want to: Beating Eating disorders: 0808 801 0677 & 0808 801 0711 Eating disorders support: 01494 793223 & support@eatingdisorderssupport.co.uk Eating disorder support service (SEED): (01482) 718130 Eating-disorders: 0845 838 2040 *I haven’t found the words to explain, in details, what I went through and how it felt. Talking about it alone is something very personal …

Going dark for Valentine’s Day 2017 – Cruelty-Free Lips

Hi Everyone, Happy Happy Happy Valentine’s day (way in advance). For V-day, I will be in Brighton. I will take the time to relax but also, hopefully, get enough pictures to do a hotel review for you guys. I had my collection of bright red lipsticks out in order to make this post and in the middle of my swatches, I decided to change everything and pick four dark lipsticks. I have been wearing really bright eye looks lately and I thought why not just pair a blue eyeliner or bright orange eyeshadow with darker lips for once. I know, for some of you, it’s not a big deal but I am super traditional when it comes to lipstick. I am so afraid to be tacky that I tend to follow stupid unspoken rules and stay in my lane. Anyway, enough BLABLA. Hope you like the colors I selected. I apologize in advance for the pictures, they looked better on my phone (still saving for a camera). NYX Lingerie – BEAUTY MARK I am a …

Horror movies to be excited about this year

Hi Everyone, How are you? I know this kind of post is not for everyone so if you do not like (or just don’t care about)  horror movies, I’ll be posting a Valentine Day/cruelty-free lipstick special very soon. I don’t know about you guys, but in 2016, I saw some terrible horror movies. This year was complicated for me. I have watched so many horror movies that I am very black and white. I either love a movie or I hate it. In my opinion, here is the list of the 8 best horror movies of 2016:  The Witch  The Conjuring 2 The Boy  Before I wake Train to Busan  Don’t breathe  Hush Under the shadow And for the worst horror movies of 2016: Lights Out  The forest  Ouija: Origin of Evil  The Invitation The other side of the door The darkness Blair Witch  Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (a disgrace) Friend request  The Remains The purge: Election year (this one is debatable. Is it a horror movie really?) 31 and the list goes on. …

Best of cruelty-free sparkly glitter dust (2016)

Hi Everyone, It feels good to be back! I haven’t taken the time to sit down and write a very long post so I am pumped. As you all know, I love love love makeup and transitioning to all cruelty-free was not easy at first. Now, I have to say, I don’t even question it anymore. Just like being full-time vegetarian (doing Veganuary right now), it does not even cross my mind to even look at something other than cruelty-free makeup. I know I will probably sound cliche (right about now), but if there is one thing you can do to help in 2017: ditch fur and makeup products that have been tested on animals. On to the fun stuff now. I was looking for glitters online last year to avoid buying another eyeshadow palette. Yes, there are tons of palettes that I wish I had right now but realistically, I only use three to four shades per palette. Unless there is a palette which I absolutely need to buy, I focus on buying either single shadows …

What should we do next?

Hi Everyone, First of all, Happy New Year! I know it’s already January 5th but I wanted to say it on here. I hope you all had a great first week. I wanted to catch up a little bit and let you know what would be coming this month, on the blog. As you all know, I am doing Veganuary so I try to post what I am eating (if anyone is interested) on my Instagram. I will try to write an update around the middle of the month just to let you know how I have been doing. So far, so good. I must say. It is super easy when you work and write from home. I think it will be interesting to see if I find it more challenging when I have to go back to uni next week. I have three blog posts that I absolutely want to write: I want to talk about cruelty-free makeup from Barry M Best of skincare products of 2016 for me Best body wash, body scrub of …

My first My little Box – December 2016

Hi Everyone !! I am so happy! First I would like to know. How are you? What have you been up to? I am still in Paris and I thought why not write this post to keep you guys updated on what has been going on. I have always been a fan of My little Paris and their boxes. I have a friend who has been subscribed for years and she loves it. I remember going to her place and checking out her boxes each month. I see ads for subscription boxes everywhere and I thought okay, it is time, try one. My main concern was the makeup to be completely honest. Since I have switched to cruelty-free only makeup ( skincare soon hopefully ),  I wanted to make sure that I would receive makeup products that I would actually use. I was also concerned about the price. My little box is exactly what I need and less expensive than my gym membership ( not sponsored by the way ). It costs £14.95, comes once …

The Cost of Cute: The Dark Side of the Puppy Trade – Review

Hi Everyone, Here is one documentary I can not wait to talk to you about. We all know that I love dogs ( they are in lots of my thumbnails ) and I do want to adopt one badly. However, I believe that animals are not accessories and I refuse to adopt a dog or a cat, as long as I live in a tiny flat in central London and I don’t have my shit together. The documentary was advertised to me on Instagram by Grace. I love what she does, I think she is a beautiful woman who is not afraid to speak up and always ready to share her life experiences with the world. Whilst I was a bit underwhelmed by her first documentary on Clean Eating ( you can have a look at my review here ), I am always ready to learn more about anything puppy related. My thoughts on what she said: Yes, social media is filled with dogs and you always see the same breeds. If I hang out on YouTube, I …

Merry Christmas !

Hi Everyone, I know I am a bit late but I wanted to wish you all a wonderful Christmas. I had the chance to be with my family today and take the day off from work. I got some money to buy my first real camera so if it works out, I will definitely let you know. I will be celebrating Christmas tomorrow as well but with my best friends this time. I do not know what’s on the menu yet but they have accepted to try some of my vegan/vegetarian dishes so I am excited ! Also, I will be participating in Veganuary. It will be my first time ever so if you have done it before, please let me know how it went. If you have some tips, I would love to hear them. I will leave you with some pictures of the food I have eaten today ! I hope to see you all next year ! My Instagram Lots of Kisses Alicia

My little Christmas Playlist

Hi Everyone, As promised, here is my Christmas playlist ! It includes Christmas songs of course but also songs that I have first heard around Christmas time. Songs about love, sharing & caring, kindness.. everything Christmas should be about ! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it ! Enjoy ! Alicia

Let’s be ( food ) friends on Instagram !

Hi Everyone, I did it. I created an Instagram for the blog. It is not a personal Instagram so you will not get any of my shitty jokes like on my Snapchat. I will be posting all the food I do not share on my blog, bought or cooked by yours truly, new cruelty-free makeup and just some cool places – restaurants – cafes I get to check out over here in London. I literally created it an hour ago and I would love to follow you guys and see what you are all up to. My Instagram is Veggieexpat. I know it looks extremely empty but please bear with me, I will try to upload at least once a day ( fingers crossed ). If you can not find me, feel free to leave your Instagram down below and I will look you up! Lots of Kisses Alicia

Horror movies for Christmas ?

Hello Everyone, Finally, Christmas is here ! I can’t wait to cuddle up in bed with my cat and stuff my face. FALSE Right after I have opened my presents, you will find me in bed binge watching horror movies. Don’t worry, though. They are all Christmas-related. Gremlins Yep.. Never said my list would be full of award winning movies ! Silent Night, Deadly Night This one is particularly funny to me. Watch the original first ! You won’t regret it. Also, skip SNDN 2 – 3 – 4. Krampus   Sorry for the crappy gif. Give this one a try, it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. The Walking Dead I am honestly blown away by the new season and I have just started. It is not technically a horror movie but it is what I will also be watching this December. Black Christmas  Again, you have the choice between two movies. Black Christmas 2006 and Black Christmas 1974. I would recommend watching the original first. Have you seen my horror movies must …

I tried the e.l.f Hydrating Bubble Mask

Hi Everyone, I thought I would do something a bit different today  beauty wise! I recently got a big e.l.f package in and I thought why not try the Hydrating Bubble Mask for you guys. I love masks and face treatments in general and I was very excited at the idea of having my face covered with bubbles. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to look like this : It came very close though and had a very good laugh. The mask comes in a lovely transparent / clear blue packaging.  It is very important to read the instructions first because it is quite different from any other hydrating masks. After you apply a fine layer all over your face, put a 5 to 10 mins timer on and let the magic happen. PS : I would suggest you clean the top of the box after you pushed down the sides to get the product out.  The sensation is very unique. At first, it is very tingly and being ticklish, I wondered how I was going …

I really want to get to know you !

Hi Everyone, How are you ? Monday is here and I am writing this post from my phone. Finals are killing me and I thought I would talk to you for a bit before I go back to my boring study session. So let’s chat !  Tell me everything ! Where are you from ? What do you do ? How old are you ? Do you have a blog ? Also, I opened a twitter especially for this blog and to meet fellow bloggers but I only had a couple of people adding me. People seem to add me more on Snapchat for some reasons. So do you want me to close Twitter and just keep Snapchat ?  What do you prefer ? I also have more than 300 people following the blog now and I want to say THANK YOU. That’s more than I could ever imagine and I will have to give something back to you guys. Like I don’t know, check my English before I post anything. But more seriously, I …

Music to overcome self-pity

What a promising title I know. But really, it is that simple for me. When I start obsessing too much about my “problems’. When I get into this addictive self-pity  spiral, when nothing sounds like a good option to make me feel better ( I am sure you know what I am talking about ). I turn to music.     I truly hope you like it. The playlist is almost one hour long. I find it really relaxing to listen to the whole playlist or a few songs just to get the attention away from what has been bothering you. As you know, I am into music and I have playlists for every occasion. I have listed all the playlists I have put together for this blog so far. Hopefully, I will have some time to create a special Christmas one for you guys ! Check out my other playlists ? What is the best policy when it comes to animal cruelty ?

Hi Everyone, I hope you are doing fantastic. I want to chat with you all about something that has been bugging me lately. You probably don’t know but I am a post graduate student in marketing and I love love love content creation and analyzing any content that comes my way. Whilst I am not really active on Twitter and Facebook ( I mostly retweet and like ), I am still on it every day, constantly connected, watching what’s going on and scrolling through an enormous amount of posts and information. I do follow PETA on Twitter just because I like to know what’s happening in “my world”, and PETA is also one of the most regular vegan news/ animal cruelty related account that I have found so far. I do have to say something. I do not appreciate being exposed to violent/gory videos of animals being tortured and killed. I understand the idea behind it and the shock value they are striving for but it is not the best way to go. In my …

How to flirt with a Food Lover

I don’t know about you guys but the only way to win my heart is with food. Cook me a meal, bring me a box a Macarons, pour me a chai latte… and I am all yours. I was on Twitter the other day and I came across the worst pickup line. I asked my friends and our good old internet for some of the best ( and the worst ) food related pickup lines and here is what came out of it. Should we all go update our Tinder profile ? “Nice buns” “How do you like your eggs in the morning ?” “How about we go straight to dessert ?” “If you were a fruit, you would be a fine apple” “If you were a vegetable, you would be a cute cumber” “I am amazing in the kitchen’ “We would make an awesome pear“ “Let’s mash” “I am loving your melons” “How about we plant seeds together ?” “Do you have any raisins ? How about a date ?” “You look delicious, can I …

Ride the tube in music

I hate hate hate forgetting my headphones when I have to take the tube. You are forced to look around or entertain yourself with your phone whilst being aware of the gum smacking lady in front of you, customer service announcements and doors closing and opening over and over again. I put this little playlist together which I listen to whenever I have to whip out my oyster card and cancel the background noise for the next 30 to 40 mins. Enjoy !

What is the difference between Vegan & Cruelty-Free MakeUp ?

Hi Everyone, I thought I would pop on here to share some important information with you guys. I know that some people think that because a product is cruelty-free, it is automatically vegan. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Cruelty-Free defines a makeup product which has never ever been tested on animals from A to Z. This includes the product as a whole but also the ingredients. For example, people tend to think that L’Oreal is cruelty-free when in fact, the brand has been misleading its customers. “The Group no longer tests on animal, anywhere in the world, and does not delegate this task to others. An exception could be made if regulatory authorities required it for safety or regulatory purposes.” ( taken from L’Oreal website FAQ page ). For more deception, please check out this amazing post from Cruelty Free Kitty. A product which hasn’t been tested on animals doesn’t mean that it does not contain animal ingredients such as beeswax. If you have a look at your packaging and it says : gelatin, …

Spending Halloween with Netflix 2 – Comedy Horror Edition

Hi Everyone, I just did a post on Horror movies to watch on Netflix this Halloween and I thought why stop there ? Why not make another list ? Do you want to get scared but not really ? Do you feel like only laughter can cancel fear ? Fear for more, I have the perfect list for you. 1.Lesbian Vampire Killers Stupid but funny popcorn flick. 2.Zombieland Irreverent take on the zombie genre. Any movie with Bill Murray is oscar worthy ( even if he doesn’t believe in “winning an oscar” ). 3.Housebound Clever twist with smart humour. It’s definitely not what you think it is. 4.What we do in the shadows Hilarious take on the vampire film. Poke fun at society and every vampire movie. Yes Twilight, we are talking about you again. 5.Scary Movie I mean come on. It is pretty funny. Would I dare to say, the most stupidly funny parody out there ? Special Mention to : Shawn of the Dead ( this should be on Netflix already ) Warm Bodies ( …

Spending your Halloween with Netflix

Hi Everyone, I thought I would do something a bit different today since it is almost Halloween. I know that most of you are counting the days until we can stuff our face with candies ( gelatine free of course ) and display our best Pinterest find costumes. I am a huge horror fan. I have watched the classics, the comically bad and notoriously disgusting ones. In fact, I am confident that I would ace any horror quizzes. Whilst I am a huge wuss and couldn’t hurt a fly if my life depended on it, I enjoy being scared and get my sweet dose of adrenaline rush. Scream A classic needs no introduction.  Nothing will ever truly compare to the Scream movies. The actors, the soundtrack, the iconic mask & Courteney Cox awful haircuts. So 90s. 2. 30 days of Night Scarier than Twilight and gorier than Morse, this movie will make you fear the unknown. You’ll never be happier to live in a crowded city. Everywhere but Alaska please. 3.Insidious The only movie stuck in my head for days. …

MakeUp & Fashion : Fall Inspiration

Guess what I grabbed today ? InStyle – Special Anniversary Issue. I have to say, InStyle is not my favorite ( I have a strong preference for Dazed ) but it was there, I was bored and I ended up finding some cool new stuff inside. Since it is a special issue, they also included a Hand Cream from a brand called NEAL’S YARD REMEDIES. I had never heard of the brand before so I had to do my research but I will come back to it in a little bit. I often read magazines before I go shopping. Yes, it is very cliché but it does help if you easily get overwhelmed. I always get so distracted when I go shopping and end up never buying anything.  Buying two or three magazines first helps me collect my thoughts and it has become my pre-shopping ritual. The pictures below summarized what interested me the most. I am not a fashion icon or fashion blogger. I appreciate fashion and beautiful clothes. Please don’t take what I say too seriously, my …

Body-Shaming Online

Hi Everyone, I wanted to talk about something a bit more serious today. Not that my posts are not serious in general but this one hits close to home. Body-Shaming Online. Being involuntary exposed to it on social media and guilty of doing it to myself from time to time, I feel like I need to speak up. Whilst most people know what Body-Shaming is, and the majority is against it, I can’t help but notice how big of an issue it has become online. It can go from “I wouldn’t wear this if I were you” to “you’re too fat for this dress” or “you’re too skinny, you need a burger”. From passive aggressive comments to insults, social media offer an immense variety of body-shaming comments. Why would you choose to take that extra step of looking at a stranger’s Instagram/Youtube account and spread hate ? Is it for the giggle, to attract attention or because you’re yourself not all that confident about your body ? We all know how hard it is, to feel comfortable in your own skin and …

Saying Goodbye and Cozy Sunday Playlist

Hey Everyone, How are you ? How was your weekend ? The weather is surprisingly lovely today in London and I am heading to the park with a whole new playlist. I just said goodbye to my best friend who is taking the train back to Paris this afternoon. Funny how I hate leaving people behind but I am okay with them going away. The playlist is called Lazy Sunday and is available on Spotify. It is exactly 2 hours long. If you have any suggestions, I would be more than happy to give you access to it. The more the merrier ! Have a safe Sunday !

The Importance of loving Yourself

Hey Everyone, How are you ? I haven’t posted in four days and it felt good. I am alone in the flat for 8 days and decided to use my time wisely. I took the opportunity to be completely alone and secluded for the week. No friends, no shopping and going out, just me and my thoughts in our empty London flat. Whilst my introvert heart usually craves privacy, being left alone and away from social gatherings, I felt really lonely. My mom (and my grandma before her) always says : “Make yourself happy before anyone else, love yourself before you love anyone else and embrace your time alone. Your life will always be filled with people but you’re the only one who will ever stay.” I can’t really translate it from French to English but you get the idea. The first four days were hard, I am not going to lie. I was bored and I was blaming myself for the smallest things. I would often think : ” you should have picked up …

Road Trip Playlist

Hi Everyone, First, the blog reached 106 followers which is pretty fucking awesome if you ask me. So a big thank you to everyone who decided to join me and read my posts. I can’t thank you enough for giving me a voice. I also closed the poll on the blog. It was not as effective as I thought it would be so until I get more feedback, I will keep writing about cruelty-free makeup and food, etc. I wanted to make a list of my favorite horror movies for you guys ( I went to see Lights Out and it inspired me – because it sucked ) but, I went on a Road Trip recently and I made a special playlist. And playlists are meant to be shared ! The movie list can wait and will probably be up on the blog next week. You never know, someone might go on a last minute road trip before uni/school starts again ! You can have a look at my other playlists over there, there & there. I would like to …

Moving Forward ?

Hi Everyone, This post is going to be a quick one. As you know my blog is about my vegetarian lifestyle. I focus on cruelty-free makeup or products worth talking about, vegetarianism & veganism and veggie recipes. I will be running a poll on my blog (it should be on your right, on the main page) and I would really appreciate it if you could participate. I will also add it at the end of the post just in case. I want to write a bit more and was thinking about a post on economic vegetarianism but ultimately, even if I decide what my blog is about, I would love to help people out, get your opinion and write things you are interested in as well. The poll will be up for 3 to 4 days. Please check it out if you have some time to spare. PS : I updated my post about Huel if you want to check it out. Much love to you all

Safety First – A guide to working out at night

Hi Everyone, A new month always comes with new challenges and opportunities for us to live a healthier life. I have been thinking about building the perfect workout routine. And by that, I mean something I would stick with, three times a week. No excuses. I do have a stationary bike at home but it is time I stop lying to myself. I could have all of the top notch fitness equipment in the world, without motivation and enthusiasm, I will not move a finger. And my stationary bike is starting to look real cute as a coat rack. Anyway, as I am a night owl and I am used to working out late, gym or not, I put together this little safety guide. In case I might start running intensely again. You never know. Always have your phone charged with you. If you like to listen to music when you’re out exercising, keep the volume low. It is crucial to be aware of your surroundings when you are alone. Wear bright shoes or high visibility clothing. Follow the main roads …
